The Lamb and Flag (Covent Garden)
The Lamb and Flag, tucked down an alley in the heart of Covent Garden, is one of London's oldest and most historic pubs. Dating back to the 17th century, this charming spot is filled with cozy corners, crooked wooden beams, and a rich history. Just a heads-up for those over 5'9" – watch your head on your way in! With its friendly staff and great selection of beers, you'll easily lose track of time standing under the awning and stunning flowers. It's a favorite for both locals and visitors, and you might find yourself coming back night after night. Ladies, don't miss the loo – it's literally in a broom closet at the top of the stairs, making for quite an experience. If you're looking for a quintessential London pub experience, the Lamb and Flag is a must-visit!

The White Horse (Fulham)
If you find yourself wandering into West London, make sure to stop by the White Horse, affectionately known to locals as the "Sloaney Pony." This gem has been welcoming patrons since 1688 and remains one of the few privately owned pubs in the area, ensuring a menu filled with fabulous food. I highly recommend trying whatever pie they have on offer, and it's also one of my top picks for fish and chips. A word of warning: arrive early on the weekends as this place gets packed with locals eager to enjoy a drink and the charming outdoor patio. Don't miss out on this lively local favorite!

The Churchill Arms (Notting Hill)
This gem is nestled in an unassuming corner of Notting Hill, yet it is anything but ordinary. In the summer, you're greeted by a breathtaking cascade of vibrant flowers. During Christmas, the place transforms into a wonderland adorned with the most charming holiday decorations. Step inside, and you'll be delighted by an eclectic array of ceiling ornaments. If you're feeling peckish, venture to the back, where a hidden Thai restaurant awaits, offering delightful spring rolls that are sure to please. No matter what you're seeking, this pub checks all the boxes!

The Ship and Shovell (SoHo)
This is one of the most unique pubs in London, not only because it dates back to the early 18th century, but also because it's the only pub in the city split into two separate buildings connected by a cellar underneath. The two halves of the pub have their own charm, with cozy interiors that are characteristic of the traditional British pub culture. The Ship and Shovell has become a favorite spot for locals and visitors in the heart of London.

Old Bank of England (Temple)
The Old Bank of England may not have the typical rustic pub feel, but it is one of the most beautiful pubs in the city. Located on London's iconic Fleet Street, it is a stunning blend of history and architecture. Originally built in 1888 as a branch of the Bank of England, this grand building once handled major financial transactions. After the branch closed in the late 20th century, the building was transformed into a pub, retaining much of its original grandeur. And the drinks certainly match the ambiance. While you can get your typical beer, wine, and liquor selections, I discovered that the bartenders here serve one of the best espresso martinis I've ever had. Give it a try and let me know your thoughts!

There are so many more amazing pubs to visit depending on which part of the city you are exploring but check these out to start your London pub-hopping journey!
